Texas Regional Bank (TRB) continued its support of the PONY International Softball World Series, welcoming players and spectators to McAllen for five days of international competition.
More than 200 teams representing Puerto Rico, Panama, Italy, the Netherlands, Mexico, the Philippines, the Bahamas, and communities across the United States competed across more than 28 fields. The tournament welcomed more than 18,000 players and spectators to South Texas.
For the third consecutive year, TRB supported the event through sponsorship, payment terminals, and volunteer service. Team members processed concession transactions, prepared orders, assisted patrons, and welcomed youth softball players from the United States and abroad. TRB served as title sponsor of a breakfast convening South Texas mayors and representatives from participating teams.
McAllen has a long tradition of welcoming people from both sides of the border and well beyond. For five days, this tournament brought athletes, families, and community leaders together around a shared love of the game. Our team valued the opportunity to help extend that welcome and contribute to an event that means so much to this region. – Fred Garza, South Texas Region President
Hosted by PONY International Softball, the Boys & Girls Club of McAllen, and the City of McAllen, the World Series also supports the Club’s year-round work serving approximately 20,000 young people through after-school programs, summer camps, athletics, and community outreach.
