Dripping Springs, Texas – Texas Regional Bank (TRB) and multiple local businesses hosted the Michael Lux Memorial Fundraiser at Hog Heaven Shooting Sports. The event, held on July 14, aimed to honor the memory of a TRB employee, Michael Lux, who unexpectedly passed away in March of this year.
To honor Michael Lux, TRB planned and sponsored the memorial fundraiser to help support one of the most important things to Michael, his daughters, Attie, and MK’s academics. Hog Heaven Shooting Sports was picked as the venue due to Lux’s passion for hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. The fundraiser exceeded expectations by raising over $30,000.
Erin Needham, TRB Chief Credit Officer, expressed his gratitude to everyone who made the fundraiser a success, “It is amazing to see the Dripping Springs Community come out and support Attie and MK Lux. I’m very proud that I live in a community that still has a small-town feel, and everyone is quick to offer support and rally around such a wonderful cause.”
Michael Lux was a member of the Dripping Springs community for over twenty years. He had been actively involved in numerous community activities and organizations. He dedicated himself to bettering the lives of those around him through his commitment and passions. Lux’s involvement spanned various community programs, including the DSYSA Board and DS High School Softball Booster Club.
The Dripping Springs business community rallied to support the event through food, drink, and silent auction sponsorships. In total, over twenty-four local businesses sponsored the event. Among the sponsors, a total of twenty teams competed in a skeet shooting competition.
Blythe Cox, TRB Business Development & Community Engagement Officer, thanked everyone who came out and volunteered their time for the event, “TRB team members along with the Dripping Springs community came together quickly and pulled off this meaningful fundraiser. It truly shows how much this small community and TRB cared for Michael Lux and his daughters Attie and MK.” TRB will turn the over $30,000 raised at the skeet shoot into scholarships for both girls to help with their college expenses.
The Michael Lux Memorial Fundraiser’s success reflects the tremendous support offered by Texas Regional Bank and the local businesses and pays tribute to the spirit of community and the invaluable contributions of a remarkable individual.
