Mark Richards

Mark Richards holds a B.S. in Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University. After graduating, Mr. Richards returned to the Valley to work for his grandfather, V. F. “Doc” Neuhaus, as a Field Supervisor for his small crude oil business.  This included wellsite supervision and working with the Texas Railroad Commission.  Upon the death of his grandfather in 1983, Mr. Richards became Manager of V. F. Neuhaus Properties, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization and some affiliates.  He began negotiating farmout and transportation agreements, as well as gas contracts.

After incorporating in 1990, Mr. Richards became President of V. F. Neuhaus Properties, Inc., and changed the company’s direction from passive oil and gas investments to active exploration.   Four years later, he bought the business from the Neuhaus estate and became the principal owner.  Since that time, Mr. Richards has expanded the mineral exploration business from South Texas into California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Mississippi.

Mr. Richards is Chairman of the City of Palmhurst Planning & Zoning Committee, serves of the boards of the Boys Scouts of America – Rio Grande Valley Council and the McAllen North Rotary Club, and is active in several other community organizations.

Mark has a record of service to his community. He currently serves on one board and has been a member of five other community-based organizations.
