Texas Regional Bank (TRB) has appointed BJ Martinez as Community Business Development Officer for North Texas. Based in Denton, Martinez will support business development, community engagement and relationship growth throughout the region.
Martinez will work with regional and market leadership to identify new banking relationships, strengthen existing client relationships and connect businesses and individuals with resources across TRB’s diversified financial services platform. His role will also support regional sales initiatives, community engagement strategy and opportunities across deposits, lending, treasury management, mortgage, insurance, trust and wealth management, and other financial services.
BJ understands that business development starts with relationships and a genuine understanding of the communities we serve. Martinez brings nearly 15 years of banking experience, with a background spanning branch leadership, business development, client relationship management and small-business lending. Most recently, he led branch growth, client retention and community relationship development while overseeing sales strategy, operations and team performance. His experience also includes originating and managing small-business and consumer loans and developing community relationships that supported local deposit and lending growth.

Martinez is a graduate of the University of North Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. His community involvement includes Leadership Denton, Chamber of Commerce service, Junior Achievement of Dallas, Communities In Schools of North Texas, Denton Soccer Association, Ducks Unlimited and the Denton Festival Foundation.
Martinez joined TRB in September 2026.
