As part of our ongoing partnership with The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) and UTRGV Athletics, TRB supported the university’s inaugural Division I football season, which concluded in November. Throughout the season, a member of our executive team was invited to present the official game ball at each home game alongside UTRGV Vice President and Director of Athletics Chasse Conque—a simple but meaningful way to honor a milestone moment for the university and the Rio Grande Valley.
A Season with Lasting Significance
UTRGV’s first-ever football season marked a new chapter for South Texas. Years of student vision, community support, and institutional planning came together on August 30, 2025, when more than 12,000 fans filled Robert & Janet Vackar Stadium—and thousands more gathered outside—to witness the inaugural kickoff. It was the beginning of a tradition that brought students, families, alumni, and residents from across the Valley to witness a historic moment and the birth of a new tradition.
For the region, this season represented growth, opportunity, and the launch of something long anticipated, and being present for the first season allowed TRB the honor of taking part in an event that will be remembered for a long time in the Valley’s history.
Game Ball Moments
At every home game, a member of our executive leadership team helped kick things off by presenting the game ball on the field. These brief moments became a consistent touchpoint throughout the season and a unique way to mark each home game.

Standing on that field, you can feel what this season means to the Valley; it’s the start of the first ever D1 football program, but it’s also a moment of pride for families, students, and generations here at home. Being part of Veterans Night made it even more meaningful for me, and it was an honor to represent TRB in a season the Valley will never forget.” –Jamie Brown-Rosas
