Texas Regional Bank (TRB) has taken a deliberate step forward in how it positions and scales its mortgage platform. With the formation of a new senior leadership team, TRB Mortgage is entering its next phase with a clear mandate: operational excellence, speed to market, and disciplined expansion grounded in local expertise.
At the center of this evolution is a leadership group with more than 25 years of shared experience working together across multiple market cycles. Stacy Curtis, EVP and President of TRB Mortgage, is joined by Chris Hankinson, SVP of Mortgage Production, and Kristy Robison, SVP of Mortgage Operations. Collectively, the team brings deep operational, production, and execution expertise, alignment intentionally built to support scale without sacrificing accountability.
“In mortgage banking, execution matters,” said Curtis. “Speed to market, operational discipline, and the ability to deliver on-time closings are what ultimately earn trust. Our focus is building a platform that performs consistently across Texas while remaining grounded in the communities we serve.”
TRB’s strategic decision in 2024 to orient mortgage banking as a true profit center accelerated this leadership buildout. That decision was followed by the addition of Robison in 2024, and more recently Curtis and Hankinson—leaders selected not only for their individual expertise, but for their proven ability to operate as a cohesive team. Their mandate extends beyond production volume; it is about building a mortgage business that integrates seamlessly with TRB’s broader financial services platform.
Operational excellence sits at the core of that mandate. From secondary markets strategy to underwriting workflows and closing execution, the team is focused on removing friction, increasing responsiveness, and ensuring TRB Mortgage can support growth across all of the bank’s market areas. This includes expanding the mortgage footprint into every region TRB serves, while maintaining a sharp focus on local specialization.
“Mortgage lending is inherently local,” Curtis added. “Knowing the market, the Realtors, the builders, and the nuances of each community is not optional—it’s essential. Our structure allows us to scale intelligently while keeping decision-making close to the people and places we serve.”
That local-first approach is reinforced by TRB Mortgage’s emphasis on community presence and partnership. The team is actively expanding relationships with local builders and Realtors, aligning mortgage expertise with on-the-ground knowledge in fast-growing Texas markets.
John Tippit, President of TRB Divisions, emphasized the broader significance of the move. “This leadership team represents a long-term investment in capability, not just capacity,” Tippit said. “Mortgage is a critical component of how we serve individuals and families across Texas, and this group brings the operational discipline and shared vision needed to support sustainable growth.”
As TRB Mortgage continues to expand statewide, the focus remains consistent: disciplined execution, strong leadership alignment, and a platform designed to perform, today and at scale.
