In the Valley Morning Star’s (The Star) 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards contest, TRB’s Harlingen branches were voted Best Bank, and Michelle Robinson was voted Best Banker. This is the fourth year in a row TRB has won “Best Bank” and the fifth year in a row Robinson has won Best Banker.
Best Bank in Harlingen
The most significant takeaway from such consistent recognition is that readers of The Star have not chosen to honor TRB’s two Harlingen branches as the best bank, but instead, readers are recognizing the teams within the branches—people who provide both personalized banking solutions to their clients and exceptional customer experiences to the people they serve.
The TRB teams at Stuart Place and 77 Sunshine Strip are exemplary brand standards for the bank, and their commitment to being ‘the people you know’ in their community is the source of their continued streak of earning best bank in Harlingen.
Michele Robinson Wins Best Banker
Michele Robinson, Senior VP and Area Market President for Harlingen, has been at TRB for almost a decade this year, but as a graduate of Harlingen High School, her dedication to serving the Rio Grande Valley in various banking roles is a tradition reaching nearly 30 years. An alumna of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU Cox, Robinson has accumulated an exceptional skillset as a banking administrator with demonstrated expertise, but her ability to specialize in the communities of the valley makes her a powerful asset to both TRB and the communities she serves.
Robinson commented on her most recent award, saying, “It may be my 5th time to receive this award, but for me, it feels like a surprise every time I get the notification. We focus in our market on being more than a building clients come to. Before they ever bring us their needs, we want them to know the names, the smiles, the people they will meet when they walk in the door. That these same people we serve each day, our community, are the people who thought of me and took their time to vote, that makes me overjoyed.”
