Addressing Key Legislative Priorities
Throughout the day, McAllen leaders participated in targeted discussions and panel sessions focused on critical issues shaping the region’s future. The delegation engaged directly with state officials, bringing attention to legislative priorities that impact businesses, infrastructure, workforce development, and public services.
The event began with a welcome breakfast, where Mayor Javier Villalobos, City Manager Isaac Tawil, and McAllen Chamber Board Chairman Hershal Patel addressed attendees, setting the stage for a full day of advocacy. Participants then joined panel discussions on workforce development, education, healthcare, transportation, and energy, featuring insights from industry leaders and state policymakers.
In the afternoon, the delegation was formally recognized during a House Resolution reading and a Senate Resolution presentation at the Texas Capitol, reinforcing the importance of McAllen’s presence in statewide conversations.
